MINTZ
CANDY RIDE – MULTITASKER, by BERTRANDO

Candy Ride was one of the top five leading sires of 2015 and most notably the sire of Champion Shared Belief and Centennial’s own Multiple Graded Stakes winner, Unified.

Undefeated at two, Shared Belief captured the Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. III) and the CashCall Futurity (gr. I), in which he scored by nearly six lengths, in his last two starts as a juvenile. The following year, Shared Belief took, in succession, an allowance event, the Los Alamitos Derby (gr. II), the Pacific Classic Stakes (gr. I), and the Awesome Again Stakes (gr. I), and then ended the year with a win in the Malibu Stakes (gr. I). In just two starts at four, prior to a career-ending injury, Shared Belief defeated California Chrome to take the San Antonio Invitational Stakes (gr. II), and took the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) by 4¼ lengths.  In addition to his Eclipse Award earned at two, Shared Belief was ranked as a highweight on the World Thoroughbred Rankings at four.

This colt is not only a son of Candy Ride, but is also a three-quarters brother to Shared Belief. We should note, too, that Candy Ride, a brilliant, undefeated Champion, has sired in addition to Shared Belief, eight other grade one winners including Sidney’s Candy, Twirling Candy, Evita Argentina, Misremembered, Capt. Candyman Can, El Brujo and Home Sweet Aspen.

The dam, three-time winner Multitasker, a daughter of Champion Bertrando, is not only half-sister to Shared Belief, but also a sister to stakes performer and producer Double Major, and half-sister to graded stakes winner Little Miss Holly. The granddam, Common Hope – by Storm Cat – is a three-quarters sister to Yankee Gentleman, a fast stakes winner who appears as broodmare sire of American Pharoah, and also half-sister to grade one winner Key Phrase. Common Hope is also a three-quarters sister to the very successful sire, Tribal Rule.

A Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Florida Derby (gr. I) victor by Malibu Moon, Orb is currently represented by a very favorably-received first crop of yearlings. Centennial’s son of Orb is out of a young graded stakes performing mare, and from a stallion producing family.

This colt’s dam, Holdontoyourdream, won twice, and captured third in the Comely Stakes (gr. III) in her first four starts. Holdontoyourdream’s only previous starter, Proud ‘n’ Ready, is a winner in 2016. Holdontoyourdream is half-sister to the speedy Liam’s Dream, a winner of four races, including the Cicada Stakes (gr. RIPARIAN
PIONEEROF THE NILE – LA MAESTRANZA by STORM CAT

A horse with a pedigree of the moment is this colt who is bred on the same cross as last year’s Triple Crown victor American Pharoah, and who is out of a mare bred on the cross that produced the dam of this year’s Kentucky Derby (gr. I) captor, Nyquist.

There are few more exciting young stallions at stud than this colt’s sire, Pioneerof the Nile. Winner of the CashCall Futurity (gr. I) and Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), and a fine second in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I), Pioneerof the Nile is siring graded stakes winners at a faster rate than any horse of his generation.  They already include the Triple Crown hero American Pharoah; 2016 graded one scorer Midnight Storm; 2016 two-year-old graded winners Classic Empire and Levante Lion; and other graded stakes winners Cairo Prince, Jojo Warrior, Dark Nile and Vinceremos.

La Maestranza, the dam of this colt, is a daughter of the legendary sire Storm Cat. She is a sister to stakes winning and multiple group placed Great War Eagle, and three-quarters sister to the King’s Bishop Stakes (gr. I) winner, Forestry, a classic sire, who is also the broodmare sire of Nyquist.

The second dam, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) heroine, Cash Run, is three-quarters sister to the grade two winning Golden Spikes. Her dam, Shared Interest, numbered the Ruffian Stakes (gr. I) among her triumphs, and is half-sister to the exceptional sprinter, Sewickley, twice winner of the Vosburgh Stakes (gr. I), and is out of Surgery, a daughter of the immortal Dr. Fager and Bold Sequence. Bold Sequence herself is also a three-quarters sister to the breed-shaping sire, Mr. Prospector.

This colt, who owns an outstanding stallion pedigree – is bred on the same Pioneerof the Nile cross that produced American Pharoah, his promising sister American Cleopatra, and the 2016 graded stakes winning two-year-old Classic Empire. The pedigree is given added appeal by linebreeding to Mr. Prospector and his family.

ILLUDERE
GHOSTZAPPER – ANSONG by MIZZEN MAST

I), Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) and Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I). He set the still standing stakes record when capturing the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 1:59.02 recording an astonishing 128 Beyer Speedfigure, the fastest ever beyond six furlongs.

At stud, Ghostzapper has sired 48 stakes winners, including Champions Judy the Beauty, Shaman Ghost and Hunter’s Bay, and grade one winners Moreno, Better Lucky, Stately Victor, Contested, Starship Truffles and Greenzapper.
