Overview

There are only so many opportunities left to own a son of the late Malibu Moon, a perennial leading sire responsible for Kentucky Derby winner Orb, champion Declan’s Moon, and a host of over G1 winners and millionaires. This colt, acquired at the OBS March Sale, is a half-brother to a pair of graded stakes performers. His dam, a daughter of the remarkable Danzig, hails from the family of a bevy of outstanding racehorses, highlighted by Hall of Famer Inside Information.

Meteorite was able to unwind from the sale and get ready to head to the racetrack under the expert eye of Paula Parsons at the Middleburg Training Center.  As a New York-bred, Meteorite is eligible to participate in lucrative restricted races and a generous award program.

Meteorite began his career on April 21 finishing a solid third against New York-bred MSW competition going a mile. He returned to the entries in the same condition June 9 at Belmont Park with a second place finish.  After a short break at the farm this fall, he is back with trainer Todd Pletcher at Palm Beach Downs.
