No elite racing stable is complete without graduates of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. More graded stakes winners and champions fall under the hammer there than at all other sales companies combined. They can be found celebrating victories at the highest level around the world, from the Triple Crown to Royal Ascot to Dubai to the Breeders’ Cup. Centennial Farms’ acquisition team, Dr. Stephen Carr and Paula Parsons, combed through the marathon of a sale using a series of physical assessments, veterinary exams, and pedigree analysis to select a quartet of colts. They are elite athletes with the potential to be home run stallions. We couldn’t be more delighted with the new additions for our latest partnership:

CROSS TRAFFIC – SHE’LL HEIR, by WILDCAT HEIR
Cross Traffic is one of the most exciting new sires to have his first yearlings hit the market in 2017. A brilliant son of Unbridled’s Song out of grade one winner Stop Traffic, Cross Traffic went wire-to-wire to take the Whitney Invitational Handicap (gr. I) over a field that included Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) winners Fort Larned and Mucho Macho Man.
Centennial’s Cross Traffic colt is out of the stakes winning She’ll Heir. The precocious She’ll Heir won at first asking as a two year old at Keeneland and followed that up with a victory in the Cinderella Stakes at Hollywood Park. She’ll Heir’s first foal, Heir Apparent, a three-quarters sister to this colt, won her debut at two and went on to lead from start-to-finish at allowance level at Churchill Downs. The second foal of She’ll Heir, Vertrazzo, a winner at two this year.
This colt’s second dam, The Tricks On Me, is by Champion Two-Year-Old and Horse of the Year Favorite Trick, and out of the multiple listed stakes winner Peaceful Road. Peaceful Road herself is a half-sister to stakes winner D’Youville Nurse, the dam of the Ladies Handicap (gr. III) victress Unbridled Hope – a daughter of Unbridled, the grandsire of Cross Traffic.
The cross that produced this colt is a version of the prolific Unbridled’s Song/Storm Cat cross which includes 2017 graded stakes winner Pure Silver, and Cat Burglar, Gadsen Purchase, Will’s Wildcat, It’s My Party and Wildcat Brief, all by Unbridled line stallions out of Forest Wildcat mares, as here. This mating also features inbreeding to Fappiano through the three-quarters brothers Unbridled and Pentelicus, and this is also found in 2017 two-year-old stakes winner Phantom Ro, and stakes winners Legal Laura and Wild Bout Tiffany, all by this colt’s broodmare sire, Wildcat Heir.

INTO MISCHIEF – MOVIE SHOW, by UNBRIDLED’S SONG
There is no hotter young sire in America today than Into Mischief. It was recently announced that his 2018 book has filled at a stud fee of $100,000. Into Mischief is already the sire of 26 stakes winners – no less than 10 from his current three-year-old crop. Among them are two-time Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) captor Goldencents; Practical Joke, a three-time grade one winner to date; Vyjack, track-record breaking earner of over $1,400,000; and other graded scorers Vicar’s In Trouble, Conquest Enforcer, Miss Mischief, Strict Compliance, Can The Man, Best Behavior and One Liner.
The dam of Centennial’s Into Mischief, Movie Show, is a daughter of the outstanding sire and broodmare sire, Unbridled’s Song. She is out of Eclipse Award winning Champion Older Mare Gourmet Girl, heroine of the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I), Vanity Handicap (gr. I), and Milady Breeders’ Cup Handicap (gr. I). Gourmet Girl is a half-sister to the grade one placed juvenile Northern Mischief, subsequently the dam of graded stakes winner North America.
Gourmet Girl’s dam, Rhondaling, was group placed in Ireland at two, and later stakes placed in the U.S. She is out of a sister to Kebir, a group winning miler in France, and from a highly-successful European family that has also produced Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I) hero Lit de Justice, group one winning two-year-old Commander Collins, group one winner Trebrook, and the American Derby (gr. II) victor Gold and Steel.
This colt is bred on an identical cross to Into Mischief’s daughter, Party Boat, a current three-year-old who is a multiple stakes winner and multiple graded placed. The Into Mischief/Fappiano cross has produced the graded stakes winning Conquest Enforcer, and is a cross that also proved to be extremely productive for Into Mischief’s sire, Harlan’s Holiday. He sired graded stakes winners Necessary Evil and Intense Holiday out of mares by Unbridled’s Song – as here – as well as twice classic-placed Denis of Cork.
