Stellar Purchases at September Keeneland Yearling Sale
Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale is widely considered the most noteworthy of its kind. Buyers representing premiere racing stables from around the world flock to Lexington each year. Over 4000 horses are catalogued for the annual event, with the best of the best grouped in Book One – this year, the first 724 hip numbers. The Centennial Farm Acquisition Team zeroed in on the colts of Book One, who would sell over the first three days of the sale. The short list came together through a series physical assessments and veterinary exams coupled with pedigree analysis. Our process is designed to identify elite athletes with the potential to develop in to appealing stallion prospects. Our spectacular new additions are: Hip 371: Exchange Rate – La Boheme, by Giant’s Causeway, Hip 557: Medaglia d’Oro – Rendition, by A.P. Indy, Hip 622: Hard Spun – Smart Farming, by Smart Strike, Hip 669: Tiznow – Stormy Welcome, by Storm Cat.
The group represents some of the hottest pedigrees in racing, purchased from those with lengthy histories of selling world-class athletes, coupled with stunning physicals. Each of the four sires has proven to produce champions who can compete on a global scale. The four female families have extensive histories of turning out high caliber runners, including Hall of Famer A.P. Indy and Breeders’ Cup winner Desert Stormer.
