Equine Retirement
Centennial Farms is committed to doing our best to ensure the healthy retirement of each horse that comes through our program. Each partnership is set up with $1,000 per horse allocated to thoroughbred aftercare. Funds are placed in a separate, interest-bearing, aftercare account with Centennial Farms, LLC strictly for the use of any Centennial horse past or present which may need assistance with placement, adoption, or aftercare. Funds may also be used for a donation to an accredited Thoroughbred Aftercare organization.
We are also proud to support the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and a variety of organizations accredited through their important work. For several years, Centennial has sponsored TAA’s Best Turned Out Horse Awards on one of Gulfstream Park’s premier days – Pegasus World Cup.
The goal with each horse is to build them a resume worthy of placement on an elite stallion roster and some are also in-demand in terrific, smaller, regional markets. Our deep roots throughout horse country and several other disciplines gives Centennial Farms a leg-up in placing non-breeding retirees in other careers. We are also immensely grateful to have welcomed many world-class partners in to the Centennial family who have opened their hearts and barns to their former racehorses.
Each horse is an individual and the expertise of the Centennial Farms team and our experience in the larger horse world allows us to evaluate what second career options would suite them best and place them in appropriate homes. If you are interested in providing a home for a future retiree, please download this form and return it to info@centennialfarms.com using the subject line Adoption Application or via fax at 978-969-3758.
