Overview

Not This Time is not only one of the most accomplished young stallions on the planet, but one of the most versatile, with world-class horses in divisions ranging from turf sprints to dirt marathons. This colt is a registered Florida-bred who hails from an accomplished family that includes G1P Drew’s Gold.

He settled at the Middleburg Training Center for his early training and was made eligible for the lucrative Virginia Residency Program.

Nearly joined the Todd Pletcher barn in Saratoga on July 11, 2025 and made his debut at the Belmont at Aqueduct meet October 26. He is now based at Palm Beach Downs in Delray Beach, Florida for the winter.  He scored his first win in his second start winning easily on November 22 at Gulfstream Park against maiden Florida-breds.  Hall of Famer John Velazquez rode to capture the win by 9 1/4 lengths.  Nearly added another win on his third start, overcoming a significant bump as the gate opened and drawing off to win by five lengths.

Nearly jumped up in a big way taking the $275,000 G3 Holy Bull Stakes January 31 at Gulfstream Park and becoming a graded stakes winner.  He answered the question if he could go two turns and earned 20 qualifying points towards the Kentucky Derby with the win.

He met his toughest competition yet in the Grade 1 Curlin Florida Derby on March 28 at Gulfstream Park finishing fourth adding another 15 points to his Kentucky Derby total.  His Beyer from the race was 95.
