Overview

Few stallions have made as big on an impact internationally in recent years than War Front and the late, great Galileo. This exciting two-year-old, purchased the OBS March Sale, brings together the power of both. His stakes-placed dam hails from the family of a bevy of G1 horses, including Irish highweight and Breeders’ Cup runner-up L’Ancresse.

He unwound from the sale and got ready to head to the racetrack under the expert eye of Paula Parsons at the Middleburg Training Center.  War Officer had a short break at the farm but returned to the track in Saratoga under trainer Todd Pletcher.

He had four starts during his 3YO year between Saratoga and Aqueduct before shifting south for the Gulfstream Championship Meet.

Kicking off 2024, War Officer finished an exciting second by half a length on January 4 at Gulfstream Park.  It was his first try on the Tapeta surface and the winner set a new track record for the 1 3/16 mile distance.  Another second place finish on February 8, also at Gulfstream, he stretched out to 1 1/2 miles on the turf scoring his best career Beyer to date.  He last ran fourth going 1 3/16 miles on Tapeta March 10 at Gulfstream Park.

War Officer is currently in training and stabled at Palm Beach Downs in Delray Beach, Florida.
